This is a beautiful original oil on linen painting by master painter, Donald Jurney. Reminiscent of Dutch Golden Age works, the landscape shimmers with light. This painting is not currently framed but framing is available.
Donald Jurney (b. 1945) was educated at Columbia University, the Pratt Institute, and the Art Students League. His career has included over twenty-five one-person shows in San Francisco, New York, Boston and elsewhere. Works by Mr. Jurney hang in prominent corporate and private collections in the US and abroad.
Jurney's work is influenced by his time spent living and working in the Hudson River Valley, England, France, Ireland and in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts. He currently maintains a studio in Massachusetts. His work is a tapestry woven from a lifetime of experience in drawing and painting, and from careful understanding and observation of the world around us.

About the artist:
Since his birth in Indianapolis, Indiana on May 19, 1921, Don Peters has continually expressed his multifaceted talents. While serving in the US Marine Corps. at the age of 19, Don received his first international recognition from combat sketches made between 1942 and 1945. Exhibited in the National Galleries of London and throughout the US. These sketches earned Don a scholarship from the National Newspaperman's Association, metaphysics, spiritual space, romantic realism and miniaturism. His preference for the rapidly drying medium of acrylic allows Don to achieve drama in his color placement.
He began his career in Hollywood in 1953, where he worked with Walt Disney, M.G.M., Paramount, Twentieth Century Fox, Warner Brow., Columbia and Filmation. In 1964, Don won the Venice Film Festival award for his screenplay, "The Soldier." Also, in 1966, Don received the Academy Award Nomination for the original screenplay and story "Naked Prey". 1971 Don was a background Artists on the film Journey Back to OZ aka Return to OZ. Peters later helped design the 1968-69 Hanna-Barbera cartoon series Wacky Races for Iwao Takamoto and Jerry Eisenberg, as Eisenberg recalled: "Iwao designed Penelope Pitstop and her car... And then there was some guy named Don Peters, who Iwao knew from his days at Disney, he was a designer. About the Artist
Artist Jose Luis Bermudez brings to life natural sceneries with breathtaking detail. His realistic oil paintings invite the viewer into a captivating, serene world of golden sunsets and peaceful wetlands. “I offer a fragment of my existence, where you can escape from daily life, visit beautiful scenes and moments, or simply recall a fond memory,†says Jose Luis. Graduating in 2008 with a BA from the San Alejandro School of Fine Arts in Havana, Cuba, he later shared his expertise as a painting teacher at his alma mater. In 2014, he took the leap and moved to Miami, Florida, seeking better opportunities. The decision did not come easy for Jose Luis to leave his home country. Yet, he encountered career obstacles that made him feel artists lacked the resources and opportunities for broader impact, access to more information, and improved working conditions. These challenges became the catalyst for his bold decision to make the move. Today, he paints in a spacious, well-lit studio, which he keeps clean and organized, always accompanied by piano or instrumental music. When he is not painting, he loves connecting with nature. He travels outside the city to places removed from everyday life, breathing fresh air and listening to self-improvement audio books to charge him with energy and continue.
