About the Item
This 24" x 30" acrylic on canvas painting by artist Dragana Milovic features a fantastical landscape of houses, florals, and other whimsical elements. The surrealist depictions of distorted houses are playful in movement in a bright and powerful palette of reds, pinks, purples, and blues. This poetically abstract landscape emphasizes the distorted houses that give the picture a funny note and associatively refer to a human and his behavior in associatively similar situations.
"After moving to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma my first impressions were formed by a visit to a rodeo, seeing cowboys competing and a nearby antique shop, which felt to me like a small museum of another era. The atmosphere I experienced that day inspired new creative ideas. Certain elements of that experience are incorporated into the composition of this painting." - Dragana Milovic
Dragana Milovic, born in Montenegro in 1969, earned her art degree in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts at the University of Belgrade in Belgrade, Serbia. After an initial period of artistic painting in Belgrade she moved to London in the United Kingdom, where she lived, painted/created and taught art for 15 years. In 2017, Dragana relocated to the United States. She currently lives and works as a professional artistic painter in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Dragana has exhibited her work in a number of exhibitions, both solo and group exhibitions and art symposiums throughout Europe. Her works are a part of many public and private collections.
