About the Item

Duong Viet Nam is a Vietnamese contemporary artist known for his Post-Impressionistic style of painting. He often captures city scenes during busy parts of the day. In his paintings you notice the French architecture which is seen throughout Hanoi. The details of people, flowers, trees and buildings are presented with a bright color pallet painted with texture and elongated strokes. Nam was born in Hanoi in 1954. He graduated from Hanoi Fine Art University, Department of Art and is a member of the Vietnam Fine Art Association. His paintings are displayed in the Vietnam Fine Art Museum and are part of private collections in USA, France, England, Spain, Swiss, Germany, Hong Kong, Singapore and Korea.

My painting is an inquiry. I make images as a way of responding to experiences that are important to me.
