Beautiful watercolor of two-masted schooner sailing off Mohegan Island, Maine by Edmond C. Johnson (American, 1927 - 2011), circa 1990. Signed lower right corner and on verso. Presented in gilt-toned wood frame with double mat under glass. Image size: 17"H x 21"W.
Edmond C. Johnson was a member of the Copley Society in Boston as well as the American Society of Marine Artists. His work has been on exhibit at the Gallery at Mystic Seaport and Mariner's Museum as well as numerous other galleries in the Northeast. He held over 35 awards including the prestigious Yankee Magazine Sagendorph Memorial Award from the Copley Society among others.
