A beautiful and very large French oil on canvas depicting a sunset at sea, by Edouard Mandon.
Excellent quality work in superb original condition. Signed lower right and presented in it's original painted frame.
Artist: Edouard Mandon (French, 1885-1977)

Edouard Mandon, born in Lorraine, was essentially a painter of the sea who was specialized in painting waves in heavy weather.
He was awarded the silver medal at the Salon de la Société Lorraine des Beaux-arts, Laureate of the Marine Painters Competition in Paris in 1937, First medal, Diploma of Honor, Exhibition at the Salon Nancéen of 1938.
He painted in particular in Brittany and in the South of France, around Toulon.
