Black Necked Stilt, by one of the finest American contemporary realist painters, Willard Dixon, who has painted western landscapes and nature-scenes for 35 years, capturing the undeniable beauty of the West with its grand and humble spirit. This painting depicts a Black Necked Stilt walking through a marsh or bog. It is a quiet and contemplative early morning scene in water grey, blue, white and green-brown. Lovely moving water in this painting. Dixon’s work can be found in numerous distinctive private and public collections, as well as the San Francisco Museum of Art, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Oakland Museum of California.
