About the Item

This painting captures a quiet moment in the countryside, where a simple house with a red roof stands at the edge of a clearing. Behind it, the forest rises in rich greens, full of shifting light and shade. The distant hills fade into soft blue and violet tones, giving a sense of depth and calm. "I was drawn to this scene because of its balance: the warmth of the roof against the coolness of the trees, the open space in the foreground leading the eye toward the woods.", said Elena about this landscape painting. "It is both an ordinary and timeless view, something that feels familiar and comforting. For me, it speaks about the beauty of small, unnoticed places, where silence and nature come together in harmony." Elena Bulatova is a Munich-based painter working primarily in oil, often in the alla prima technique. Born in Moscow, Russia in 1981, she received early training in a children’s art school, laying the foundation for a lifelong dedication to painting. Her artistic practice is rooted in academic traditions, yet she continuously seeks freedom and individuality in her work. Bulatova often paints en plein air, working directly from life to capture the essence of a moment with immediacy and sensitivity. She is especially drawn to subjects found in her everyday surroundings—landscapes, people, portraits, and the human figure—exploring the natural beauty and quiet poetry of the visible world. Over the past twenty years, Bulatova has developed her skills through a combination of self-directed study and mentorship with experienced artists. She has studied in diverse settings, including traditional icon painting in Moscow and the AktHof in Munich. Currently, she is enrolled as an external student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, deepening her engagement with classical technique and contemporary practice. The gallery guarantees the uniqueness and high quality of this work of art, confirmed by a certificate of authenticity.
