About the Item
A glorious oil on panel of Venice in the 1920's, when this sort of boat wasn't just a quaint tourist relic but was actually a working boat on the canals. A wonderful addition to the collection of any lover of La Serenissima! Painted in a wonderful palette of earth tones by notable Hungarian-American artist Elizabeth Weber-Fulop, who was formally trained in Europe by celebrated artists of the time. 28" x 32" framed, 21" x 26" panel only. Artist Bio:
Artist Elisabeth Lisel Weber-Fulop (1886-1966), who eventually resides in Duxbury, Massachusetts, was born in Hungary and raised in Vienna, Austria by adoptive parents. She studied art in Vienna with Ludwig Miclek and in Paris. first at the Academy Colarossi and, later, with Jacques Emil Blanche and Lucian Simon.
The Elisabeth Weber-Fulop papers were donated in 2009 by the Director and Chief Curator of the Museum of Art, Munson-Williams-Proctor Institute in Utica, New York, Paul Schweizer, who had received them from Weber-Fulop's estate. An interesting side-note for the eventual owner of this painting, should you wish to contact them for more information about the artist!

- Condition:Frame is in good but not great shape, some separation at corners. I'd certainly keep the frame if it were mine, doesn't bother me a bit. Painting itself is in excellent shape. Painted on panel.
