An antique E. Horton oil landscape painting depicting a Farm scene by a river setting. The sky overhead is vast and aglow with the last light of day. It is very detailed with rich pigment and features a flowing asymmetrical composition. The brush strokes are subtle but visible at close range. The artist signed the bottom left corner “E. Horton”. It dates to circa the late 19th century. The painted canvas is tacked to a stretcher and is set in an ornate gilt plastered wood frame. It has a light affixed to the top. there is a wire for hanging.
