About the Item
In this painting, I merged surrealism with metaphysical wonder, using oil to invite viewers on a cosmic journey. The puzzled rabbits symbolize curiosity beneath a futuristic celestial web, highlighting nature’s quiet awe. I wanted to capture a moment of profound connection between earth and sky, filling your space with mysterious energy and a sense of endless exploration. This piece encourages wonder and introspection every day.
This painting was a late bloomer, slow to find its way. It started with the half circle, I thought it might be a moonrise but that didn't work out, so I turned it upside down and found a landscape that needed rabbits observing the sky. Rabbits are always watching. Since I have been interested in alternate universes and realties for quite a while, that idea crept into the void, filled the stellar space.

Evy Olsen Halvorsen (aka Halvorsen Holstein) was born in northern Norway and cur-rently lives in Kingston WA. Evy and her parents immigrated in 1956 to the neighborhood of Ballard in Seattle WA. After graduation from High School, and some community college, Evy moved briefly to San Francisco before landing in Kitsap County with husband and daugh-ters. After raising her daughters, owning a couple of businesses, she continued her educa-tion at Cornish College of the Arts, receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts, cum laude in 1999, in Painting and Printmaking.
