Beautiful landscape.
Francesc Casademont Mercader, Catalan painter with more than 30 years of experience. Specialized in landscapes in oil, he is fascinated by representing his native land, especially the Lluçanès area with its characteristic pre-Pyrenean and mountain image. Nature, urbanism and life are his favorite themes.
Casademont defines himself as a “craftsman, not an artist.” To consider yourself an artist, he says, is to give yourself importance. Instead, “a craftsman is simply a person who tries to do things the best he can.”
His artistic training, apart from what he had at home, went through the School of Design and Engineering in the first instance and then through the School of Design and Art later. Then came his tireless adventures in search of color and contrasts, traveling through much of Europe, North Africa and Asia.
