About the Item
French Impressionist oil on canvas view of trees on a riverbank in all their colourful autumn glory by Francoise Hinard. Initialled bottom right.
Hinard has used a combination of swiftly executed brush and palette knife strokes (almost pointillist) to give a wonderful texture to the canvas evoking the rustle of autums leaves in the trees. The colours are carefully chosen in reds, golds and greens to show the richness of an autumn scene in bright sunlight. She has captured the trunks of the trees and also their reflection in the water that runs in the foreground.
A wonderfully bright atmospheric painting. A veritable celebration of late summer/early autumn colours.
