Born in Wales, Frank Griffith studied art in Paris at the Academie de la Palette (under Jacques-Emile Blanche) before becoming part of the Fitzroy Street Group under the tutelage of Walter Sickert in the early years of the 20th century. He later returned to France before settling in Dorset in the 1950s.
