It is signed René Jean Hesse. He was born in Nancy, France, in September 1910, and passed away in the same city in April 2000. He was a prominent figure in the Lorraine art scene, known for his contributions as both a painter and a decorative artist.
Hesse served as a decorator in the architectural department of the city of Nancy, where he applied his artistic skills to enhance the city's aesthetic. He received his training under the guidance of Henri Bergé and Émile Wirtz, both of whom were influential in the field of glass decoration. This mentorship provided Hesse with a solid foundation in decorative arts, particularly in glasswork.

René-Jean Hesse was an active participant in various art exhibitions. He showcased his work at the Salon de Nancy, where he was awarded a Gold Medal for his contributions.
