A French Fauvist Color-Field gouache and chalk on paper landscape by G Ricard. The painting is not signed but was acquired from the atelier of the artist. There is another painting of an abstract landscape to the back of the paper, see photo.
A charming and characteristic South of France view of a riot of autumn colour in a mountain landscape. The artist has used an interesting and vibrant colour palette of oranges, yellows, greens, blues and browns for the composition which makes the painting sing.
