A 40x40cm palette knife oil painting on cradled panel. From a series of work inspired by an afternoon spent exploring the landscape around the Seven Sisters cliffs in the South Downs. There was a huge sense of space at this location combined with intriguing shapes and lines in the textural, undulating landscape. The weather was unsettled with the strong winds along the coast, but the ever-changing light brought out an amazing array of colours in the land. The use of palette knife and think paint portrays the undulating, wildness of the land, creating varied texture throughout the piece.
