About the Item
Pastels on paper applied to canvas. Signed in lower left hand corner.
The large landscape is completely dominated by the play of color: divided into two hemicamps given by the sky and from the earth (a mountain heath where sporadic fir trees sprout), sees prevailing above the pinkish blue of the sky, below the greenish blue of snow on the ground, two shades of the same color range then meeting in the mountain skyline.
Cinotti was a landscape painter who was an exponent of Italian Divisionism, whose painting is characterized by a textural, mellow layering with touches of spatulate color.
