Born in Brooklyn, New York in 1882, artist Guy Gaylor Clark was trained as a painter under Francis Luis Mora, George Bellows, William Merritt Chase, Frank Vincent DuMond and Robert Henri. Clark was a member of the Art Director’s Club and Eastern Arts Association. An accomplished painter, photographer, and lecturer, Clark was also a writer and regularly contributed articles on design in Printers Ink Monthly. Clark was the Art Director and Dean for Cooper Union School of Fine Arts in New York City for seven years.
