This splendid coastal marine landscape painting was done by American artist Reynolds Beal (1866-1951). Beal was born in New York City, studied painting at Merritt Chase’s Shinnecock Summer School, and went on to become a prominent East Coast marine and landscape painter, eventually settling in Rockport, MA.
