Helios Gisbert was born in Alcoi (Alicante) in 1948. His father, also a painter, introduced him to curiosity and a taste for art. Already from his youth the goal of painting as a profession was raised.
His themes range from the figurative costumbrismo of the people and lands of Castile to religious and allegorical themes such as his work in Tel Aviv (Israel) in 1973. The style is open but always part of the values of painting as technique and material. Light and color are treated with the vigor of the impressionists and the form can reach cubist abstraction or pure abstraction itself as the ultimate form of expression.
