This painting is in oils on canvas and is inspired by the idea of a garden beside the sea. The Cornish coast path is one of my main subjects and I enjoy combining landscape or seascape with still life subjects.
My favourite subject is the garden with botanical specimens and flowers of all kinds. Hee there are vases of various pinks and orange colours and the shapes denoting sections of garden or pathways. The turquoise of the sea behind with its patches of shore sets off the still life idea.
Teresa has been a professional artist showing her work in exhibitions nationally and internationally for about 20 years having gained her 1st class art degree in Hertfordshire. She has been living in Cornwall for thirteen years and is passionate about walking in her environment and drawing her inspirations in her sketch books which are then taken back to her studio overlooking the Lynher river.
