About the Item

Into the Blues contains a circular image which floats and breaks into the background and is reminiscent of sky and water imagery. It contains strong rhythms which can be seen in the natural world and contrasting tones of blues and greens. I hope that each viewer can escape into the space created and find their own point of contrast. Jo works from sketches and memories, and is excited by extreme conditions, which produce dramatic lighting and effects. Always wanting to suggest images that are unclear and can be interpreted by the viewer in different ways. She works with layers of paint to suggest a mystery for the viewer to experience. Some paintings contain figurative references, others are abstract.
