Beyond the Clearing
By Ginny Williams
Located in Wenham, MA
This piece is an original oil painting on panel by American artist Ginny GC Williams. It was painted en plein air during a painting expedition to Vermont. With vivid light and color, the artist has given us a glimpse through the trees to a long view across a field to the far mountains. Using brushstrokes and drawing into the paint, the piece is reminiscent of Japanese woodblock prints that inspire the artist. The piece is beautifully framed in a handmade curly maple floater frame with contrasting spline joints at the corner. a beautiful presentation. GC Williams has a degree in art history which gave her an understanding of, and appreciation for, not only the art of the past, but the historical events and ideologies that fostered various aesthetics, movements, and styles. She has studied at several classical ateliers, including three years at Boston's Academy of Realist Art. Her work has been shown in galleries throughout the US and is included in public and private collections. She maintains a studio on the north shore of Massachusetts. "My work is about the little moments of beauty that comprise our existence: the greening of the landscape in early spring, the glint of light on an object; growing things and made objects. I enjoy creating interesting interactions, and making up narratives. I love the way light animates objects...

"A Family of Four On Cross Highway" impasto oil painting of trees in landscape
By Emily Persson
Located in Sag Harbor, NY
"A Family of Four On Cross Highway" is a contemporary impressionist view of a tree scene on the East End of Long Island, New York. The impasto style of this painting brings the leaves and bark of these trees to life. A classic Hamptons style house can be seen in the back right corner behind more trees and shrubbery, and the pale blue sky contrasting with the natural color of the house. The bright and deep greens in this piece make this a joyful and charming impasto painting by the artist Emily Persson. Emily Persson is a Melbourne based artist who has been creating oil paintings with a palette knife for three years. Emily is a multi-generational artist with roots in Brisbane, Australia. Although an avid hobbyist painter her whole life, Emily found her style and her new career in 2016 when she began painting landscape, seascape and floral still-life paintings inspired by her surrounds in Queensland. Emily decided in late 2017 that she would give away a successful corporate office job and pursue her life long dream of becoming a full time artist. She relocated to South Yarra in Melbourne and immediately began exhibiting across Australia at galleries such as the Moree Gallery and Satch & Co. Emily participated in many group exhibitions and fundraisers in 2018 including multiple shows in Melbourne, New South Wales and Queensland. Emily has gained most of her notoriety from her popularity on Instagram where she has close to twelve thousand followers. Emily’s art has trended worldwide on social media and she has become a pioneer and mentor for other artists trying to find their online groove. Emily has drawn the eye of some of Australia’s most sought after interior designers including Thomas Hamel, Nina Provan, Lauren Li and has had her work displayed in some of Australia’s biggest lifestyle magazines including Belle and Country Style. Influenced by master artists such as Frederick McCubbin and Arthur Streeton and by the contemporaries such as Prudence Flint and Rick Amor...
