Joshua Goode
Ancient Map of Dallas with Oracle, Smiley Face Pyramid and Dinosaur Park

Buyer Protection Guaranteed

Heavily inspired by amateur archaeologists and elaborate hoaxes such as the Piltdown Man, artist, Joshua Goode stages archaeological finds from fictitious fabricated civilizations. For example, Goode humorously asserts that the Aurora Rhoman people were an ancient civilization of Texans that influenced many of the worlds most pivotal events. In this painting Joshua Goode depicts a map of the city of Dallas, Texas from ancient times featuring a smiley face pyramid, sphinx-like oracles, and a lavish dinosaur enclosure. The piece is made using India ink and acrylic paint on paper that has been torn and treated to appear older.
