An oil landscape showing a eucalyptus tree overlooking Ventura county at sunset. This Ventura based artistis known for his California plein air landscapes at early sunrise and sunset. Using semi-abstract forms, Guzman used heavy applications of paint with an influence of Fauvism and Expressionism in this impressionistic work.
Born in Chile in 1948, Guzman-Maldonado moved to California in 1972 and has been influenced by the work of Charles Reiffel, Maurice Braun, and Charles Fries. Guzman-Maldonado lives in Ventura and exhibits primarily in Southern California, with his work being collected world wide.
