This work represents a beautiful pink tree in the moonlight. It is a celebration of love, tenderness and passion between two beings. Nocturn III is a unique painting by contemporary artist Lumi Mizutani. The painting is made with Japanese pigments and gold leaves on cardboard. This artwork is a diptych composed of two wood panels of 27.3 cm x 24.2 cm (10.7 × 9.5 in); the two panels are joined and the total dimensions are 27.3 cm × 48.4 cm (10.7 × 19.1 in). The artwork is signed, sold with a frame (as on the photos) and comes with a certificate of authenticity. Dimensions of the framed artwork : 32.5 cm x 54 cm.
In this series of figurative paintings, Lumi Mizutani pays homage to Japan and its wonderful landscapes especially those at Higashiyama-ku in Kyoto and Ueno in Tokyo. The artist places a lot of emphasis on nature and trees in her works of art. This series is characterized by the use of India ink and colour pigments together with gold, copper and silver leaf.
Lumi Mizutani works on the alchemy between different elements she uses: paper, ink and water. Through the magic play of the materials, Lumi invites the viewer to enter the world of her artworks full of emotion. The artist juggles with the codes by using traditional techniques, on the one hand, and permanently reinventing with her own techniques, on the other.
