Ink, Japanese pigments, and golden leaves on Japanese paper mounted on wood, 38 cm × 45.5 cm. Sold framed (black shadow gap frame). Dimensions framed: 43,3 x 51 cm Square with Palace I (2013) is a painting by Paris-based Japanese artist Lumi Mizutani. In this series of figurative paintings, Lumi Mizutani pays tribute to Japan and its wonderful landscapes especially those at Higashiyama-ku in Kyoto and Ueno in Tokyo. Plum and cherry blossoms pines, weeping willows… the artist places a lot of emphasis on nature and trees in her works.
