About the Item

"Autumn Hills, Vermont" is a 16 x 16 inch original encaustic painting on panel that captures the radiant essence of a New England fall. Created using the ancient method of encaustic painting—in which molten beeswax is blended with pigments and applied in luminous layers—this piece offers exceptional depth, texture, and warmth. The composition features rolling Vermont hills bathed in brilliant autumnal hues: golden oranges, burnt sienna, and fiery reds, all set beneath a crisp, vivid blue sky. A delicate line of trees provides rhythm and contrast, their foliage rendered in glowing, gestural marks. The foreground field is richly textured, blending earthy burgundy and mossy greens in a way that feels both painterly and grounded. This one-of-a-kind work is ideal for collectors of landscape art, encaustic technique, or those seeking artwork inspired by Vermont’s seasonal beauty. Signed by the artist and wired for immediate hanging, it brings both serenity and vibrancy to any space.

"Light Pattern Dance", Encaustic Painting
By Kevin Weckbach
Located in Denver, CO
Kevin Weckbach's (US based) "Light Pattern Dance" is an original, hand made oil painting that depicts a busy city sidewalk where passerby walk along the city avenue lined with towering buildings of a bustling neon metropolis. Artist Statement: "Subject matter to me is a vehicle for me to explore how I observe life. My urban influences are an assembly of varied fabrics stitched together to form a tapestry. It is not to resemble a literal story of what it is; moreover, it is a quilt that explains my visual expression. What I find particularly interesting in human intervention in nature is how we are still intertwined with it. Roads, buildings, and farmlands bend with the natural curves of mountains, hills, and streams. City nights are lit up like lightning bugs...

"Shipyard" Realist Industrial Landscape
By Robert Lavin
Located in Austin, TX
This painting is a 20th century realist landscape depiction of a shipyard by Robert Lavin. The piece is executed in oil on board and measures 10" x 24". Robert Lavin was born in New York City. His education included Townsend Harris, a prep school in New York followed by college at City College of New York. He also attended the National Academy of Art, where he studied as a painter. Studying the social realists of the 1930’s, Lavin, a former Marine pilot, portrayed steelworkers, roughnecks and trainmen. Lavin often painted his “proletarian ballets”- as one critic called them – to illustrate magazine advertisements. The Smithsonian Institution and other museums collected Lavin’s original paintings, which portrayed the laboring subjects with dignity and integrity. Lavin also illustrated stock certificates and books. Paper Money magazine praised him as “one of the greatest vignette artists of the 20th century.” In addition to this, Lavin was for a number of years an Associate Professor of Art at City College of New York, a position he left in the mid ‘60’s in order to devote himself full time to his painting. His commissions took him around the world, from the North Sea to the coast of Africa, from the slopes of Alaska to the Sea of Japan. As part of a series for Gulf Oil, he painted the royal family of England for the opening of a new refinery in Wales. Another portrait of one of the early Americanastronauts, appeared on the cover of Time Magazine. Other major commissions during these years included Readers Digest books...
