Marcia Wise
"Light My Way Home", oil painting, landscape, yellows, greens, blues, pink

2017

About the Item

Marcia Wise’s mid-sized 32 x 26 inch oil painting “Light My Way Home” is grounded in dark blues and greens paired with magenta, pink, orange and yellows. Wise’s “Light My Way Home” is a part of her recent oil painting series in which she leads the viewer, through her interpretation of the landscape, toward the light. A beautiful, bold and colorful oil painting that uplifts the spirit, giving hope and a sense of joy that could be found in following a light-filled road into higher awareness. Using both palette knife and brushes to paint, the artist works in multi-layers of paint application which creates a sense of depth and texture on a flat surface. Rich colors supply balance of warmth and coolness, from dark blues and greens into magenta, pink, orange and yellows. With beautiful contrasts and flawless compositional elements, this 24 x 30 inch painting is framed in cherry and signed by the artist on the front. Marcia Wise is a Massachusetts-based contemporary oil painter and educator whose paintings are inspired by nature's landscape forms and patterns, light effects and reflections, and the play of textures. Her work has been exhibited and collected nationally and internationally. She is represented by Fountain Street Gallery in Boston, MA.

  • "Longitude", landscape, boat, river, blues, greens, mountains, oil painting
    By Alexandra Rozenman
    Located in Natick, MA
“Longitude” is 40 x 60 x 2 inch oil painting on canvas by Alexandra Rozenman. You feel the space shifting through many horizon lines. A peaceful river landscape with a single boat on a green shore keeps the painting up like a pedestal while above it air moves in greens and blues leaving lines and shapes on the lands and mountains. White trees that make us think about birches reflect in deep waters. Light goes up and up and up and on the very top of the painting, we see two women sitting comfortably next to each other at the front of an open door. This vast landscape is just a room for them. Dark night with a full moon is outside. The title of this painting is "Longitude" it illustrates how close we can be even when we are far away once we understand each another. This painting is oil on canvas, initialed on the front and signed, titled and dated on the reverse. On the reverse, you also see one old...
