"Old Alpine Cabins" is an beautiful oil painted on location in the Italian Alps by Maria Bertran. This Contemporary Impressionist painting captures a timeless scene in the Val D' Aosta. Created en plein air and contrasting the colorful flowers of the meadow, the texture of the old weathered stone cottages, and the greens of the Alps in the background, this beautiful painting features the bold colors and textures of the Venezuelan/American artist Maria Bertran. The artist splits her time between Provence and Laguna Beach in California, working entirely on location and from life to create impressive depth and authenticity in her work. She obtained her BFA from Washington University in St. Louis, and has her work in collections on six continents.
