Barge on a Canal
A tranquil canalside painting of a horse-drawn barge by Maurice Grun. Signed bottom left, dating from the end of the 19th century and inscribed verso with the artist’s address in the 11th Arrondissement in Paris.
Grun was born in Estonia and became a naturalised French citizen. He studied under two of the most influential landscape artists of his time, Lefebvre and Constant. His work often appeared at exhibitions held by the Society of French Artists.

Good sound condition and presented in its original carved frame.
