Living part-time at the coast provides artist Nancy Hughes Miller with infinite sources of inspiration. She presents a magnificent seascape gleaming in ethereal iridescent tones. A morning beach walk combined with imagination in the studio yields a panorama in a rainbow of soft colors. Ocean waves break gently in the distance under warm yellow light and drifting lavender clouds.

About the Artist
Reflected in Nancy Hughes Miller’s paintings are the coastal and rural environments of southeastern North Carolina, her birthplace, where she still spends much of her time. As a child, Nancy’s primary education did not include art classes, so she was delighted when one day her oldest brother returned home from college with newsprint and charcoal. She went on to pursue a career path in graphic design and fine arts. Now a full-time artist, Nancy experiments with vibrant colors and fluid forms to create her non-traditional, painterly landscapes. She enjoys working with oils, a medium that dries slowly and lends itself nicely to blending. Nancy strives to produce artwork that is, according to her, “quiet, yet bold.”
