Parents were descendants of Bulgarian immigrants. He spent his childhood among the Budzhak steppes and lakes of the Danube Delta, listening to songs and legends about the past from old-timers. In 1980, he entered the art and graphic department of the Odessa State Pedagogical Institute. The first solo exhibition of creative works by I.I.Shishman took place in 1985. At the pedagogical institute. He began his career in his hometown. From 1985 to 1991. Ivan Ivanovich worked as a teacher of fine art in the school with. Larzhanka of the Izmail district.
