Oleksandr Khrapachov
"Tissa. A sunny day"

2024

About the Item

In this painting, a warm summer day comes to life, where the sun generously spills its light over the picturesque banks of the Tisza River. This river, which is born in the highlands of the Carpathians, carries its irrepressible energy down into the valley, filling the space with purity, freedom and genuine natural harmony. The artist Oleksandr Khrapachov skillfully captures the brilliance of the sun's glare on the water surface, which shimmers in constant motion. A light breeze of wind, the scent of mountain herbs and the quiet whisper of water - all this seems to come to life before your eyes, creating the effect of immersion in nature. Each brushstroke brings warmth and light, making this work an ideal addition to the interior. It will not only decorate the space, but also fill it with a sense of calm, solar energy and serenity. “Tisa. Sunny Day” is not just a painting, but a real source of inspiration that will warm your soul even on the darkest winter days.

"Solebury Valley"
By William Langson Lathrop
Located in Lambertville, NJ
Signed lower right. Complemented by a period frame. William L. Lathrop (1859-1938) Deemed “Father of the New Hope Art Colony”, William Langson Lathrop was born in Warren, Illinois. He was largely self-taught, having only studied briefly with William Merritt Chase in 1887, at the Art Students League. Lathrop first moved east in the early 1880s, and took a job at the Photoengraving Company in New York City. While there, he befriended a fellow employee, Henry B. Snell. The two men became lifelong friends and ultimately, both would be considered central figures among the New Hope Art Colony. Lathrop's early years as an artist were ones of continuing struggle. His efforts to break through in the New York art scene seemed futile, so he scraped enough money together to travel to Europe with Henry Snell in1888. There he met and married an English girl, Annie Burt. Upon returning to New York, he tried his hand at etching, making tools from old saw blades...
