About the Item

“Winter” - a winter memory of a Ukrainian village Alexander Khrapachev, 2010 You are looking at “Winter” - an exquisite canvas that reveals a view of the winter landscape of a Poltava village, painted by a talented Ukrainian artist Alexander Khrapachov. Created during a plein air in 2010, this painting captures the authentic spirit of Ukrainian winter and the poetry of rural life. On the outskirts of the village there are characteristic Shevchenko's houses, as if they were the guardians of Ukrainian cultural heritage. The artist skillfully recreates the harsh winter mood: the ground is frozen, the road is covered with thin ice, which complicates the path of a lone figure. In this image, one can feel both the complexity of life and the resilience of the Ukrainian character in the face of natural trials. Khrapachov successfully combines academic precision in rendering details with impressionistic lightness of brushstroke, creating a rare synthesis that allows the viewer not only to see but also to feel the cold air and hear the creaking of snow underfoot. The color palette is restrained and at the same time expressive, conveying subtle gradations of winter light and cold shadows. The work is presented in the artist's personal catalog “Oleksandr Khrapachov. Painting, Drawing” (Kyiv, publishing house ‘Sofia-A’, 2015), which confirms its artistic and collectible value. The medium-sized canvas (60x80 cm) is made with oil paints on canvas, which guarantees its durability and the possibility of becoming a family heirloom that will be passed down from generation to generation.By purchasing this work, you don't just become the owner of a painting - you get a fragment of Ukrainian identity captured by the gaze of one of the most interesting contemporary artists in Ukraine.
