Peter Donnithorne (b.1933) The opening hunt meet, November 1984 Oil on canvas Signed lower right Canvas Size 14 x 18 in Framed Size 17 x 20 1/2 in Peter Donnithorne British born in 1933, studied at The London School of Art. He served for 25 years in The Royal Navy from 1950 to 1975. He became a full time artist based in Chipping Sodbury but recognised as part of “The Bristol Scene”. In his early career he specialised in paintings of horse and hound before moving on to the landscapes and waterways of Bristol and the surrounding areas.
