About the Artist:
Peter Walkley was born in Orange, Texas in 1952. He attended the Omaha Art School in 1972. Walkley describes himself as “a self taught painter working with acrylics in a precise realism, occasionally tinged with subtle surrealism.” He has many works in private and public collections.
“Without obvious physical or cultural landmarks, the appeal of the Midwest is easily missed. I feel my challenge, as a Nebraska realist, is to find the beauty and mystery in the everyday, the tensions beneath the serene, while avoiding false sentiment or cliche.”
