About the Item

Beach Coming by Pixie Willoughby is an original work. This piece depicts wonderful mixtures of colours that comes with a beautiful seascape sunset. Pixie Willoughby available with Wychwood Art online and in our gallery. Pixie Willoughby artist with Wychwood Art. Born in Lincolnshire in 1972, Pixie qualified from Lancaster University in 1994, with BA hons QTS in English Literature and Theatre Studies. For the next 26 years, she taught primary aged children in schools located in the UK, Portugal and Thailand. Whilst teaching in Thailand, Pixie developed her love and interest in art. In 2012, she was commissioned to paint 99 paintings for the bedrooms of a hotel in Pattaya, Thailand. Following this success, Pixie retired from teaching and returned to the UK to focus full time on her art. When Pixie is not painting, she is training for triathlons. Having completed an Ironman in 2018, this has fuelled her belief that anything is possible. "I believe art is creation. It's in the rustling trees, it's in the air we breathe, it's in the songs we sing, it's in everything. I am proud of my art as it has a voice. It speaks to me, it speaks for me. It reveals my heart and my soul. I hope my art speaks to others too. That it comforts and confronts, that it challenges and questions, that it demands all and nothing. My art is my books, my music, my history and the history of others". "Beach Series" GG4E Seascape, Abstract Painting, 21st Century
By Roger König
Located in Dessau-Rosslau, Sachsen Anhalt
Artist: Roger König b. Dessau, Germany (1968) Master student of Kurt Schönburg, HWK Halle, Germany. König combines modern painting with acrylic with old techniques and in this way, he connects contemporary art with tradition. The natural clay color bestows the pictures with a completely special dim texture which stands in an exciting contrast with the delicate luster of the acrylic color. The features of the clay color allow a more intensive treatment of the surface. Often, there are lines, scratches or breaks in the surface, as if the canvas had been covered with a fair patina. More subtle strokes in the color bring graphic characters to mind, color gradients natural phenomena, divided canvasses the contrast which is immanent in everything: the principle of yin and yan. Submit Best Offer, all reasonable offers will be considered. Roger König's works are in private collections worldwide. His admirers include leading figures in international business, film and media. By the Beach, Abstract Painting
By Jenn Williamson
Located in San Francisco, CA

Artist Comments
Jenn painted this piece using Golden Open Acrylics, which take longer to dry and therefore allow for more blending time. Jenn uses this technique to give the painting a dreamy and hopeful essence. "I am more passionate than ever about painting peaceful, reflective art that provides serenity and beauty," she says. This piece was painted on Arches heavyweight paper and includes a 1 5/8" border around the edge for ease of framing.

About the Artist
Jenn Williamson expertly evokes the scenery of British Columbia in her soft abstract landscapes. She utilizes defining horizontal and vertical strokes, coupled with a skillful handling of color, to create significant depth in each piece. Her paintings, though abstracted, clearly convey the atmospheric attributes of the scene–rain, wind, clouds, fog. Jenn’s muted color palette transports the viewer to the Canadian west...
