About the Item
The artist applies the underpainting in approximately five to six layers, building a rich texture of brushstrokes that adds depth and atmosphere to the work. Although this process is time-consuming, it significantly enhances the overall feel of the painting.
For the final layers, the artist works with oil paint mixed with Liquin and a touch of Cold Wax Medium. They use fairly large flat brushes for broader strokes and employ unconventional tools—such as the back of a brush, cotton swabs, kitchen paper, or any object that helps achieve the desired lines and shapes—for finer details.
The addition of wax proves especially useful, as it thickens the paint, making it easier to manipulate and offering greater control over texture and form.
