This bold contemporary abstract painting was rendered in acrylic by Sasha Rogers. The work features her signature dividing line, creating tension and balance between the two halves.
A feast of color, texture, and expressive brushstrokes delight the senses when you gaze at this lovely painting by the Canadian artist, Sasha Rogers.
The palette is sensuous—deep pink, purple, melon, sienna, with flashes of white and black. Rogers’ signature ‘horizon line’ divides the color field of the canvas in two—the upper is softer in hue, and the lower is richer. The overall effect compels the viewer to look towards the line into infinity.

Sasha Rogers acquired a Bachelor of Fine Arts Honors in Drawing and Painting at the University of Saskatchewan. A Master of Visual Arts in Painting followed at the University of Alberta where she received the highest distinction given for outstanding research in visual arts. Rogers taught painting and drawing at both the University of Saskatchewan and the University of Toronto. She has had numerous solo exhibitions in Canada and attended international art fairs, and her artwork is held in many corporate collections nationwide. Private collectors span the globe including Canada, the U.S., and Europe.

Sasha Rogers
Sasha Rogers, daughter of premier artist Otto Rogers, received her master's degree in painting in 1987 and was a painting instructor for 12 years. She has been primarily focused on solo exhibits and international art fairs and is in numerous private collections in Canada, the USA and Europe. Rogers' works have been influenced by the work of William Turner, Mark Rothko, Agnes Martin, Antoni Tàpies and her father, Otto Rogers. What collectively draws her to these great artists is their dedication to evocative metaphors rather than literal descriptions. Rogers states, "They invite rather than prescribe."
