THE ARTIST:
Stephen “Steve” Stallings (b. 1948, La Mesa, California) is an American painter celebrated for his luminous skies, atmospheric landscapes, and extraordinary attention to detail. He painted his first canvas at the age of 8, and by 18 was already recognized as a professional fine artist with numerous awards and media coverage.
His last 15 one-man shows in California were one-night sellouts, underscoring the demand for his work. Over the years, his paintings have entered prominent collections, including those of Rock Hudson, Andy Granatelli, the Western White House (Nixon Administration), Sheena Easton, and major Las Vegas resorts such as The Bellagio and MGM Grand.
Stallings is widely known for his versatility—depicting Southwestern vistas, Early Americana, snow-covered mountains, and tropical scenes—as well as more recent ventures into modern abstract painting. Across all subjects, his hallmark remains the same: soaring skies, vibrant use of color, and meticulous detail that make his work instantly recognizable and highly collectible.
