About the Item
This landscape painted in early spring shows a view over the Teme valley to Cwm-Salanhan hill in the Shropshire ANOB. The brook which meanders it’s way to the river Teme was in full flow after the heavy snows and seemed to glisten like a ribbon in the early morning. "I like the effect of painting a landscape in portrait format as it allows me to flatten the perspective and concentrate on more abstract shapes and textures," says Stuart Roper. Painted in a mixture of different media on canvas and framed in a simple yet elegant black frame. Signed on reverse.

Artist Bio: Lynda Minter is a London-based artist who has an interest in capturing impressions of how the landscape and cityscapes appear in a fleeting moment, bringing to life the complexity of how light and colour transforms shapes and mood which she finds exciting Lynda’s colourful palette combining thick brushstrokes with rich colour to capture the vivacity of Britain’s varied landscape: recording over her long career the ever-changing skyline of London parks and the river Thames. St Martin’s School of Art BA hons in Fine Arts 1984 where she studied sculpture and a few years later made the transition into oils at the Slade Summer School. In 2013 Lynda was artist in residence at the River and Rowing Museum, Artist in Focus at The Dover Street Arts Club 2006 and has contributed to many solo and mixed exhibitions including the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition , The Discerning Eye, The Mall Galleries, The Chelsea Arts Society, The Painter’s Fine Art Society, Christie’s Wine Art...
