About the Item
Up for sale gorgeous original Nautical oil painting on canvas, signed by the mysterious Artist "T. Bailey" (American, 19th/20th).
The painting depicts a nautical scene. A classic dramatic and turbulent scene with the ship battling against the forces of nature. The waves are high and rough, with whitecaps and foam visible on the water's surface.
There are some notes on verso.
Framed in a nice wood golden frame.
Signed in a lower right corner T. Bailey.
Condition: The painting has one small tear in the upper-right corner. The canvas is a little bit wavy.
According to information from different sources, T. Bailey did not exist but was a pseudonym of several artists from the Massachusetts communities around Cape Ann. One of these Artists was William F. Paskell (British-American 1866-1951). This truly is a unique and intriguing piece of art you will enjoy having in your collection.
Framed measures 32" x 27", painting measures 29" x 24".
