About the Item

The Brooklyn Tower looms over the city as the tallest building in Brooklyn at 74 stories high. A dramatic new addition to the Brooklyn skyline in 2022, it is depicted shooting up behind the Dime Savings Bank (built 1908), like a dark monolith. The Brooklyn Tower has a strong, dramatic presence, placing downtown Brooklyn literally on the map. The dark towering giant is formidable in scale and color and commands attention for miles from its location. Dark as it is, it is painted in mid-day, displaying various unexpected reflections of light from behind, and front, giving it an appearance reminiscent of the Art Deco style.

In this sunset picture of New York City, the artist reaches deep within himself to match the heartfelt colors of a glorious glimmering sky bathing in sweet deep warm rays of brilliant yellow echoing its golden cry across the heavens, capturing groups of clouds while hoovering over the magnificent city of New York whose cold structures succumb to redemptive reflections of glory beyond our dreams, echoing never ending warm light that radiates the soul and takes us to a place reminiscent of one of the greatest cities of all time, The New Jerusalem...

Torre Velasca
Located in Milano, MI
Urbex is the English acronym for urban exploration and is an activity that consists of searching for and locating abandoned infrastructure with the goal of visiting, photographing and conveying its contents, with particular involvement of methodologies from geography, anthropology, sociology to cultural studies. Her works have been in the past approached to the works of Anselm Kiefer (b. 1945) and Giovanni Battista Piranesi (1720-1770), but in Gullotta's paintings the absence of color makes the spaces particularly ethereal, allowing them to be ideally lifted to new places and to new life. An artist of international caliber who has decided to entrust her return to her homeland to Almach Art Gallery in Milan, while maintaining connections with important galleries, such as Marlborough Fine Art in London and Galerie Koch in Hanover. The artwork represents the famous Velasca Tower in Milan. This artwork was exhibited during the Daniela Gullotta...
