The light is the main event in bucolic settings, and the artist makes this challenge look simply effortless. In this painted, a shadowed tree line of cedar trees dominate the foreground of a meadow richly painted in tones of orange and umber. Wispy tree branches are highlighted by a pale pink sky that reflects the setting sun. Thompson's work is at the same traditional yet freshly relevant to today's environment - a classic landscape that has mass appeal! Anthony Thompson attended Dartmouth College, has a BFA degree from Rhode Island School of Design and an MFA from Cornell U. He has taught at Cornell, Parsons school of Design and other colleges and universities. He has a graduate degree in Psychology and has written and lectured on the neuropsychology of art. His work has been exhibited at The Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Institute for Contemporary Art, Boston and many other institutions in this country and in Europe.
