About the Item
A charming oil painting by German artist Georg Kobel (1807-1894) depicting Hohenschwangau Castle, built in 1933 by King Maximilian II of Bavaria. The work is beautifully presented in an ornate gilt frame finished with elaborate corner mouldings and delicate running patterns. Signed 'Kobel' in the lower right, with additional provenance information in German on the reverse. On panel.
