About the Item

A shepherd and his loyal dog watch over their flock of sheep as they enter a thatched sheepfold in this late nineteenth, possibly early twentieth-century oil by the Dutch artist Johan Scherrewitz. Signed to the lower right. Well presented in a gilt-effect frame with a rustic finish. On canvas on stretchers.
