About the Item
Dramatic skyline by unknown artist Cole (20th Century). A series of apartment buildings are rendered in short, colorful brushstrokes, almost in a pointillist style. Next to the buildings, and American flag hangs from a flagpole, contrasting against a hazy blue and white background of buildings in the distance. At the bottom of the composition, a lone woman hangs laundry to dry on the roof of the apartment, adding a sense of scale to the piece.
Signed in the lower right corner ("COLE")
