Oswald von Krobshofer was from 14 November 1903 pupil at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich under Carl von Marr, Peter Halm and Julius Exter. He worked as an artist in Munich, Berlin, Naumburg, Leipzig and Miltitz near Leipzig. He was a member of the German Kunstgenossenschaft and the Metznerbund Tetschen. With landscape and figure pictures he was represented 1911-1914 in the Munich secession. He did not attend an art school. In 1887, Léopold Stevens met the then-unknown Claude Debussy, befriended him and introduced him to his family, who received him on a regular basis. He received a travel grant in 1892. He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français in Paris, winning a bronze medal in 1900 for the Exposition Universelle; at the 1902 Salon, he was given an entire room at the Grand Palais.
