Victorian landscape painting at its finest, gentle countryside and wonderfully drawn figures by a highly regarded British Artist. A beautiful pair of oils on canvas, mounted on stretchers in their original restored gilt frames.
"Meeting in the Lane" - Oil on Canvas by Walter Heath Williams. This is one of a pair, both West Country scenes, available separately and as a pair. Very typical of this 19th Century artist's work. They are both in beautiful original frames which are gold leaf and in excellent restored condition.

Walter Heath Williams
Walter Heath Williams was a landscape painter who during his life lived in Bath, Topsham and Torquay. He exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1845–67, the British Institute and Suffolk Street. He painted landscapes, river and coastal scenes mainly in the West Country, especially Devon and Cornwall. Williams was a master of capturing peaceful little spots of nature with their hidden homesteads and winding paths.
